Demonstration in Rajasthan against ‘Panipat Movie’ burnt effigies of Ashutosh Gowariker

Director Ashutosh Gowariker’s much-awaited period drama ‘Panipat Movie‘ has been released in theaters. The movie has started off well with mixed reactions. While some are criticizing the film by stating a two-hour history class, there has been a demonstration in some parts of Rajasthan.

According to reports, the Jats of Bharatpur in Rajasthan have reservations about the Movie. The locals are burning effigies of Ashutosh. He feels that Maharaja Surajmal is misrepresented in the Panipat film.

In the Movie, the great Maratha warrior Sadashiv Rao Bhau (role played by Arjun Kapoor) asks Maharaja Surajmal to help against the Afghans but Surajmal wants something in return. When his demand is not met, he refuses to support Sadashiva in the war.

Many are also demonstrating the fact that the local people depicted in the film are speaking Rajasthani and Haryanvi while they speak Braj Bhasha (Western Hindi language) completely.

Let me tell you, this is not the first contravention related to the film. Earlier, there has also been a dispute about a dialogue of Kriti Sanon, who plays Sadashiv Rao Bhau’s wife Parvatibai in the film.
