Spinner Sunil Narine, who played a key role in making Kolkata Knight Riders IPL champions in 2012 and 2014, has said that the franchise is like a second home for him and he does not want to be in any other team other than KKR. Narine, who is often quiet on the field, was recently retained by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. After retaining their players, KKR released a short film titled ‘The Comeback King’ on social media. Naren has said in this that he cannot play for any other team except KKR as he has played all his cricket here.
Naren said, ‘There is no place other than KKR, because I have played all my cricket here. I would love to continue representing the franchise. This is my second home away from home. So, I hope it can continue.’ Regarding the action against him for bowling action in 2020, Naren said, ‘It was tough. In the end, cricket has never been easier for me. I have to work for what I have. It was a step where I had to work hard after digging deep and come out on top.

Kolkata Knight Riders have released some of their legendary players in IPL retention. These include names like captain Eoin Morgan, wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and opener Shubman Gill. Looking at Morgan’s batting form, it was already decided that he would be released this time. However, he has been better in terms of captaincy. In IPL 2021, KKR’s team reached the final under the captaincy of Morgan, where they had to face defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings.
